GETTING STARTED / WHAT TO EXPECT?


New Students are welcome to join at any time. We tailor the sessions and lesson plans each week to accommodate students of all ability. 
We accept males and females of all ages, never too old to learn new skills.
Juniors: You must be over 12 years if age (We are reviewing of opening a young juniors class)
No martial arts experience necessary, there is no advantage for new students with previous MA background as we train as a team and have all different levels of fitness, health, knowledge & experience.
FREE first time whether you participate or watch.
We are the only Users of the Hall in the evening so no distractions or disruptions. 

GETTING STARTED

We always welcome new students, and base each class with an open content suitable for the whole group to enjoy and interact together, whether you are, first time starter, new or experienced, as we all have something to learn. 
What do I expect, what do I need when I first start?
  •  Bring Tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt / sweatshirt / trainers (if no mats are used) - clean socks or pumps (if mats are used)
  • You can borrow cleaned training club weapons and ensure they are cleaned when finished.  
  • You don't need to be super fit, our training methods are light, relaxed and at your own pace and level of energy. You develop body conditioning, health, fitness, stamina & flexibility from week to week.
  • First Lesson is FREE..  
  • We train within a team environment and often change training partners throughout the session. One week you could be training with a white belt, graded student or a black belt! All benefit 
  • A fun, friendly and welcoming group, no politics, no egos, and no regimental training methods. We are a family, not a squad.
  • We do not enter tournaments and competitions. No trophies and titles to win. You get knowledge, good skills and abilities for life, and much more.
  • Bring an open mind, and always ask questions. If you don't ask, you won't learn.
  • Experienced, friendly, vetted and qualified instructors. 
  • Learn traditional skills, from 9 different budo & ninpo schools which is the Bujinkan (Divine Warrior Hall). 
  • Evolved and adapted for modern day encounters.
  • Safe training Japanese weapons, wooden, bamboo or foam rubber. (We train with a wide range from staffs, swords, knives, unique special weapons/tools, chain/rope weapons, polearms and spears.
  • Unlimited skills and knowledge. Always something new to learn and improve, whether it is fundamentals or advanced, no matter what your rank and experience. 
  • Enrolment with our insurance governing body (AMA) when you are ready, and quality personal equipment can be acquired from your instructor at good competitive prices, from selected reputable suppliers.
  • Maybe a quick drink in the pub after training?
