ABOUT US

Bujinkan Ely Dojo.
Welcome to the new website of Bujinkan Ely & Peterborough Dojo.

We train in traditional, authentic budo taijutsu, commonly known as Ninjutsu/Ninpo, as translated by Soke Masaaki Hatsumi (34th Grandmaster of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu). This is an ancient warrior tradition encompassing a wide range of unique combat skills effective for modern society including self protection, weapons, strategy and much more.

This site is for anyone interested in our martial arts school, and for students & instructors of the art, that are associated and supports the groups.
More information of the art will follow soon, but we can be found on the face book pages under Bujinkan Ely Dojo & Bujinkan Peterborough Dojo.

We also have a sister Dojo based in Peterborough (Est 2012), details can be found on the link table.

Shidoshi Rick Pridmore

Ely Dojo is led by Rick Pridmore (9th Dan/Kudan).
Rick has been involved with ninjutsu since 1989, with previous experience in Judo, Karate and full contact kick-boxing & other budo arts. Ninjutsu was his true passion due to its comprehensive and wide variety of skills and knowledge to study and practise. His instructor is Jake Sharpstone (15th Dan). Eventually Rick visited Japan in 2011, and was awarded his 5th Dan (Godan) at Hombu Dojo. He then expanded the dojos' with the name Bujinkan Tengu Kage Dojo for both schools, and opened his second club in Peterborough in 2012. Rick has handed Peterborough Dojo to a team of up and coming Dan grades and visits occasionally.
Rick is more full time at Ely now.
Rick's Dojos are affiliated  under Jake's Miyabiryu chain of dojos which is headed by Jake in Brighton, and supported by dojos in Ipswich, Cambridge, Peterborough, & Ely.

Shidoshi-ho  Robert Ludlow

Ely Dojo's assistant instructor is Robert Ludlow (3rd Dan/Sandan).
Being a child of the 80’s, Rob has always been fascinated with the myths, secrecy and stories of the ninja. He started studying the martial arts when he was 13 years old with Karate and continued though the years with Judo, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Ju-Jitsu, Aikido and back in 2011 after moving to Ely & meeting Rick, he found out there was a dojo local to him. He enthusiastically joined the Bujinkan, & started studying ninjutsu.
Since then he has continued training and studying under the guidance and support of Rick Pridmore 9th Dan and Jake Sharpstone 15th Dan to achieve the rank on Sandan (3rd Dan) and became a Shidoshi-ho (Assistant Instructor).
"Studying Ninjutsu has given me much more than just having the ability to defend myself and others, it has given me a deeper understanding of myself, my abilities and shown me a different way of life" - Rob.
